92 Days Completed

Ninety two days aboard the conscious goods alliance ship....thirteen different states, countless miles traveled. So many people took us into their homes and treated us as family, just as we brought people into ours daily. Yes coconut wood floors, bamboo cupboards, hemp cushions, solar panels, denatured alcohol in the stove and after giving the spiel hundreds of times I look back and embrace all the lives of which we touched. That hope of change. Just to let people know that we are doing what might be talked about, we are living what we speak of, we are explaining the logistics of sustainability in our Eco living room and not in a classroom. If nothing else we are all empowered from this mission. I came onto the bus eager, ready to see more than what could be summed up in a thought, ready to feel what the rest of the country thought of this sustainability concept. To be learning and simultaneously teach is the essence of the bus life and I choose to live in continuation of this philosophy.
I stepped off the bus sleep deprived, hungry for solid ground and in desperate need of still quiet space. Since the trip began I have always felt a strong sense of nourishment. We were always taken care of in an indirect sort of way. Whether we just happened to break down in front of a welcoming home in the middle of Ohio or meet an incredibly friendly hostel clerks who happened to take pity on the fact that our bus has no showers or toilets, my needs were almost always met. So my calls were answered as Tod whisked Marla and I away to his quaint 3rd story town home in Montreal and it is here that I am able to reflect, and breathe easy.

The six of us were family, brothers and sisters who could hardly agree on what to eat but at the beginning and end of the day we all knew why we were there. Justin remains in Colorado after partaking in the National Democratic Convention. Rob last time I checked is bouncing around Manhattan but off to Chicago at least for a bit. Our beloved flower child Erin is finding her nest in Brooklyn and her place in the art community. Marla, although closest to me (in the next room) I haven't the least idea of what direction she shall take, perhaps Montreal could be in her horizon. Tod is grounding into his space and I couldn't be more happy for him. He is surrounded by great people, an abundant city that more represents a village and nature sprinkled throughout. His yoga vision is beginning to take root.
And what is in store for me??? Leaving school for a bit was much needed for many reasons, one being the realization that my BA is in need of completion so I flock SW back to LA for the winter at least. I am officially part of the Kopali crew and look foreword to representing them on the west coast. Coming onto the bus I was entering a self sustaining ship. There was a crew before me and a crew before that. Now I am leaving the ship with the knowledge of what it really takes to live as neutral of a lifestyle as possible. It is now my turn to be the creator of a sustainable space, as Zach and Steven have done. I am ready to bring this methodology with me to solid ground and continue to learn more possibilities and ways of utilizing my natural environment in non invasive ways. My journey in a sense has just begun. I leave this blog spot with the intention of creating another. For the meantime ciao to all and thanks for opening up to the ever abundant possibilities of existence on our planet. signing off once and for all
